Ipigea

Vincent Butler RSA RGI was born in Manchester in 1933 and trained at Edinburgh College of Art and the Breda Academy of Fine Art in Milan. After time spent abroad in both Italy and Nigeria, he opened his studio in Edinburgh in 1963 and has lived and worked here ever since. A lecturer until 1989 at the ECA, he is an acknowledged master of casting techniques and has written a much admired book on the subject.
