THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY - PAUL MARTIN
Paul Martin has exhibited widely both at home and abroad, and has work in the collections of The Royal Academy, The British Museum and the BBC.
Over the course of his career he has garnered many awards including The British Institution prize for Printmaking and The Royal Academy Awards for Painting and Printmaking.
Through A Glass Darkly is an exhibition of new work which foregrounds the most recent developments in Paul’s thought and art. These pictures are an attempt to describe the presence of a universal language and essence within the phenomenal world; they seek to jolt us into realising what things could or just might be like. Through painterly metaphors of sign, rhythm, matter and colour, all revealed through light, the exhibition presents us with a new perspective on our surroundings, and invites us into Pauls unique visual world.
