The Song of the Esk - Darren Woodhead

Please see below for images of work featured in this exhibition
Since graduating from The Royal College of Art Darren Woodhead has become one of the most highly regarded artists working in his field in the country today. The recipient of The Artists for Nature Foundation Award in 2000, he was in 2009 named Artist of the Year by prestigious birding magazine 'Birdwatch'.
Darren's watercolours are painted from life, out of doors and in all weathers, and are never retouched or reworked in the studio afterwards. His ability to capture nature as it really is - the tumult of a flock of birds in flight, for example - has been described by Julian Spalding, former director of Glasgow Museums, as 'little short of miraculous'.
'Up River', Darren's stunning visual record of the flora and fauna of the River Esk was published to great acclaim by Birlinn in 2009.
We look forward to seeing you there!
